On February 18, 2007, the San Lorenzo Ruiz Chapel Choir (SLRCC) was born. It is an evenly-distributed group of dedicated all-volunteer members. With its unique mix of Filipino and English music, the choir aims to help make the Eucharistic celebration a more enriching experience.

Besides singing at Saturday and Sunday masses at the chapel and during special liturgical feasts and seasons, SLRCC has made great strides since its inception with concerts and musical projects:

• 2007 Philippine Independence Day Parade
(June 2007)

• Inauguration of the chapel’s baby grand piano
(July 2007)

• “Heto Na… SLRCC in Concert”
(7 Sept. 2007)

• San Lorenzo Ruiz Feast Day Mass
(23 Sept. 2007, St. Patrick's Cathedral, NY)

• Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome for the
20th anniversary of the
canonization of San Lorenzo Ruiz

• "Sanlibong Buhay: a Musical Tribute to San Lorenzo Ruiz"
(18 Oct. 2007, Sta. Pudenziana Church, Rome)

• “Caroling sa Kapilya”
(21 Dec. 2007)

• "Jubilate: a Concert Tribute
to the Archdiocese of New York
on its 200th Anniversary"
(29 Mar. 2008)

• "Jubilate II: a Concert Tribute
to the Archdiocese of New York
on its 200th Anniversary"
(30 May 2008)

• San Lorenzo Ruiz Feast Day Mass
(24 Sept. 2008, St. Patrick's Cathedral, NY)

SLRCC is honored and excited to continue on this musical journey with San Lorenzo, his devotees and you. After all, as St. Augustine said, to sing is to pray twice.
